Castello di Rivoli, Accademia Albertina of Fine Arts Courses
Since 2001, Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art – in collaboration with the Turin Accademia Albertina of Fine Arts – organizes a training course in contemporary professionalisms curated by Guido Curto and Massimo Melotti.
Providing the acquisition of university curricular credits, the course is structured with a series of conferences, panels and lectures led by artists and international professionals. Over these years, the lectures have been held by artists as Shirin Neshat, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Nicola De Maria, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, Gilbert & George, or philosophers like Mario Perniola, museum directors, installers and collectors.
Academic Year 2009-2010 conversations have been led, among others, by artists Sam Durant and, Nedko Solakov and Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, director of documenta 13. During the course, visits with teachers were organized to Thomas Ruff and Gianni Colombo exhibitions. Other meetings have been guided by Marco Scotini, curator of Colombo solo show, Chiara Oliveri Bertola, head of exhibitions and technical head of Collection, Andrea Bellini and Beatrice Merz, Directors of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art. Every year, in collaboration with Graphic and Virtual Design Course, the Castello di Rivoli organizes a workshop of one or two-weeks curated by Massimo Melotti, Luigi Bistagnino and Paolo Tamborrini with artists and professionals from the contemporary art world.
The most recent workshops have been guided by artist Massimo Bartolini (in collaboration with the University of Pisa) and by the artistic duo Andrea Caretto and Raffaella Spagna.
