Artport, Tel Aviv

Artport Tel Aviv is a non-profit art organization fostering and promoting contemporary Israeli art. Through an Israeli and an international visual art residency, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and professional training, Artport advances artists and the connections between art and society.
Founded in 2012, Artport is the leading residency program in Israel, with a rich public program that includes artist talks, screenings, professional workshops and a yearly Art Book Fair.

Artport Tel Aviv was founded by Mr. Jason Arison, Chairman of The Ted Arison Family Foundation. It is part of The Center for Young Art and is fully funded by the Ted Arison Family Foundation.

The Residency Program
As they are transitioning to their new space, they are currently only offering residencies for international curators or non-studio based artists, for periods of 1-3 months. The residency will include a live-and-work space in an apartment in Jaffa, meetings with artists and curators and close curatorial support from the Artport staff. Artport will cover travel, accommodation and a monthly stipend to cover the costs of the stay.

Once transitioned to their new space, in 2018, Artport will once again host six Israeli artists who will participate in a 12-month-long program and work side-by-side with the international artists and curators.

The residencies are flexible, and there is no request for an end-product. However they recommend planning in advance with their team to make the most out of the residency experience.

Other Programs
Artport Tel Aviv also run an active non-profit art gallery, conferences and debates, professional development workshops, artists talks and more.

Their Artist Career Development programs (with Artis Contemporary and Asylum Arts ) include a three days retreat hosted at Artport that aims to provide the artists with professional tools to help them in their career as well as creating connections with other artists. The program continues throughout the year with specific workshops led by different professionals and artists.

Artport’s Art Book Fair, founded in 2015, presents over 150 Artist books and serves as a meeting point between artists and the general crowd. With one hundred percents of the sales going directly to the artists Artport’s Art Book Fair is a unique platform that encourages and supports local publications.
